One Visit, Real Results

Get Your Teeth Up To 8 Shades Whiter

We offer two of the most effective whitening systems available today — KöR Whitening and in-office professional whitening — both designed and supervised by Dr. Clifford Young and Dr. Peter Young. Not getting the results you want with strips and toothpastes? The truth is you can't get professional results without the help of professionals.

The Science

What Causes Tooth Stains?

Did you know that teeth actually have microscopic pores? Once you realize this it becomes easier to understand how teeth become stained. Virtually all foods and drinks (with the exception of water) contain incredibly small atomic pigments known as chromophores.

Over time, these chromophores combine and build up within the pores of the teeth, darkening them. The key to eliminating deep tooth stains is using whitening methods that produce "friendly free radicals" to break down those stain-causing chromophores — extended with powerful blue LED lights and additives such as carbopol polymers, sodium pyrophosphates and sodium hydroxide.

Candidacy

Am I a Good Candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Professional teeth whitening is one of the safest and most accessible cosmetic dental treatments available. Most patients in good general dental health are excellent candidates — whitening works best when:

1

Healthy Teeth & Gums

We recommend a professional cleaning before whitening to ensure even, long-lasting results.

2

Stains From Life, Not Trauma

Staining from food, drink, tobacco or aging (extrinsic or mild intrinsic) responds best to whitening.

3

Limited Front-Tooth Dental Work

Whitening gel does not change the color of crowns, veneers or fillings, so existing restorations stay the same shade.

Whitening may not be the right first step if you have significant tooth decay, gum disease, or very sensitive teeth — we'll identify and address any of these at your consultation first. Patients with severe intrinsic staining, such as from tetracycline, are ideal candidates for KöR Whitening specifically. Not sure which option is right for you? A quick consultation is all it takes to map out your ideal whitening plan.

FAQs

Whitening Questions

If you want a brighter, more radiant smile, teeth whitening may be the perfect solution. It effectively removes discoloration caused by aging, coffee or tea consumption, smoking, and certain medications.

The timing depends on the type of whitening treatment you choose. In-office whitening can produce noticeable results after just one session, with optimal brightness typically achieved in 3–4 visits. At-home whitening kits may take a few weeks to deliver full results.

Yes, we recommend a professional cleaning before starting your whitening treatment. Plaque and tartar do not respond to whitening agents, so removing them first ensures even, long-lasting results.

Teeth whitening is generally painless, though some people may experience temporary sensitivity. To minimize discomfort, avoid very hot or cold foods and drinks right after your treatment. If sensitivity persists, over-the-counter pain relievers can help. Your dentist can also suggest ways to reduce sensitivity for future sessions.

With good oral hygiene and by avoiding foods, drinks, and habits that cause staining, in-office whitening can last up to a year. At-home treatments typically maintain results for several months.
