Dr. Peter Young
DDS, MAGD
Dr. Peter S. Young believes in developing a partnership with you in order to help you achieve long-term optimal dental health. Providing the highest quality comprehensive dental care in an ethical and conservative fashion is his number one priority. He also works closely with a team of well-qualified specialists in providing multidisciplinary dental care.
He has received the designation of MAGD, a “Master” from the Academy of General Dentistry. Less than 2% of dentists in America have this degree. Dr. Young has attended over 4000 hours of advanced dental continuing education since 1988 and continues to attend over 100 hours a year. Dr. Young is a Fellow of the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics and an Accredited Member of the American Society of Dental Aesthetics. This means Dr. Young has been recognized by his peers as a leader and an example to other dentists in the importance of continued learning for optimal patient care.
Dr. Young earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California. In 1988, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University. Dr. Young is an Associate Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute and a sustaining member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Other memberships include: American Dental Association®, California Dental Association, Total Patient Service Institute, San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Dr. Young is a lifetime member and has been certified by the United States Dental Institute in orthodontics since 2002. He also holds membership in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and is a Lifetime Quality member of the Crown Council. He is also a graduate, mentor and clinical instructor at Kois Center.
Educating others is also one of Dr. Young’s passions. He has been an assistant professor since 1998 at the Division of General Dentistry School of Dentistry at Loma Linda University where he lectures on aesthetics dentistry and practice management.
Dr. Young feels that continual learning is vitally important in keeping pace with the latest dental developments. In fact, he attends an average of 150 to 200 hours of advanced seminars annually. Since 1988, he has completed close to 4000 hours of continuing education seminars. These seminars include subjects such as implants, cosmetics and laser dentistry.
